Kei Nishikori has eased his way into the third round of the US Open after Pablo Andujar was forced to retire from the match due to an injury with the contest at 6-4 6-1.
The pair held their serves well in the first set and it took just one break for Nishikori to clinch the lead at Flushing Meadows.
Nishikori took control of the court in the second set by grabbing an early break point, despite Andujar bringing the game back to deuce.
The Japanese pro took another break shortly after taking the lead and wrapped up the second set, but Andujar declared himself unfit to continue, therefore gifting Nishikori a place in the next phase of the tournament.
