Mardy Fish continued his recent good run of form by making it into the third round of the US Open in New York.
The American defeated Malik Jaziri of Tunisia 6-2 6-2 6-4 to set up a match against South Africa's Kevin Anderson.
Jaziri was well-beaten in the first two sets, but made Fish work hard to close out the win.
The world number eight's previous best in the tournament was a quarter-final appearance in 2008.
