Andy Roddick is through to the quarter-finals of the US Open after defeating David Ferrer in four sets.
The match was victim to Tuesday and Wednesday's scheduling chaos, but when play resumed, the competitors had to be moved to Court 13 after water still appeared to be on the surface of Louis Armstrong Stadium.
After a significant delay, the American took the first set 6-3.
The 2003 winner extended his lead in the second 6-4, before Ferrer fought back to claim the third 3-6.
The Spaniard had the better of Roddick at the beginning the fourth, but the number 21 seed regained his composure to take the set 6-3 and set up a quarter-final match against Rafael Nadal.
