Serena Williams saw off Kaia Kanepi in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals of the US Open this afternoon.
The top seed and five-time champion needed just a single break in the first set to claim the opener 6-3.
It was the same score in the second, but a much more up and down set.
Kanepi broke Williams's serve twice but still couldn't get ahead as Williams claimed victory in just over an hour with four breaks of her own.
Williams, who is searching for a third straight victory at Flushing Meadows, will face Italy's Flavia Pennetta in the last eight.
