Serena Williams has booked her place in the third round of the US Open at Flushing Meadows with a comfortable straight-sets win over Galina Voskoboeva.
Nothing could separate the pair after four games in the opening set, but the world number one, who won the tournament last year, pulled away from her Kazakhstani counterpart and emerged as 6-3 winner.
The American needed only 27 minutes - 71 in total - to seal her passage into the next round, as Williams broke serve three times and coasted to a 6-0 victory in the final set.
