Sports Mole brings you live coverage from day five at Wimbledon, with Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer starting their third-round matches today.
Good morning and welcome to Sports Mole's live text coverage from the fifth day of the 126th Wimbledon Championships.
The first batch of third-round matches get underway today following yesterday's shock result, which saw Rafael Nadal exit the tournament in round two at the hands of world number 100 Lukas Rosol.
Meanwhile, British favourite Andy Murray gets to fight another day after his victory over Ivo Karlovic, with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Petra Kvitova joining him in the next round.
Today though, we focus on world number one Novak Djokovic, who is up against Radek Stepanek on Centre Court this afternoon, followed by British hopeful Heather Watson, who faces a tough challenge against number three seed Agnieszka Radwanska.
Roger Federer also continues his campaign today with a third-round clash against Julien Benneteau, while Maria Sharapova will be hoping to continue her fine form on Court 1 when she faces Hsieh Su-Wei.
We have ALL the action covered right here. Enjoy!
21.27Right, that's all from us this evening. It didn't quite live up to the mad drama of last night but it was still a nerve-wrenching end nonetheless. On the men's side of the draw we've had wins for defending champions Novak Djokovic, Richard Gasquet and of course Roger Federer.
Meanwhile, Maria Sharapova, Agniezska Radwanska and Kim Clijster all came through their matches. There was also the exit of Heather Watson but we won't dwell on that.
We hope you've enjoyed our company today as much as we've enjoyed yours. You can join us tomorrow as Andy Murray, Serena Williams and Lukas Rosol (yes, him) are all in action. Have a good evening!
21.22More from Federer: "Julien was playing amazing, I knew it was going to be a difficult match."You just try to stay tough and focus from point to point. I appreciate the fans' support."
21.21Federer: "It was a tough match. Maybe a bit of luck on my side, who knows? I fought to the very end, I'm very fortunate and very happy." 21.20It's the eighth time in his career that he has pulled off such a triumph and he will meet Belgium's Xavier Malisse for a place in the quarter-finals. 21.19It was something of a disappointing final chapter to what wasa remarkable match, but Federer comes from two sets behind to reach the fourth round at Wimbledon. 21.18GAME, SET AND MATCH! Federer 4-6 6-7[3] 6-2 7-6[6] 6-1 Benneteau 21.16Yes, yes he can. You have to say that this one is all but over. Federer will now serve for the match. 21.15Federer has ANOTHER break point. Can he go 5-1 ahead? 21.12Benneteau's time on Centre Court looks to be running out now as Federer holds to take a 4-1 lead. 21.11He's got it! What a forehand from Federer as he whacks the ball down the line with a stinging return. He leads 3-1 in this final set. 21.10Chance for Federer now as he has two break points. 21.08Benneteau receiving treatment now, although it's more of a thigh massage than anything on his left knee. 21.07Federer not letting up here as he holds serve. Typically unrelenting from the six-time champ to take a 2-1 lead. 21.05Despite having problems with his left knee, Benneteau's big serve allows him to hold. 21.03Benneteau flexing his left knee now. He looks to be struggling with something. 21.01A tense opening game sees Federer just about edge it with a smash at the second time of asking. 20.58It'll be Federer to get this deciding set underway. 20.56Amidst all of that drama, number 31 seed Florian Mayer saw off the challenge of qualifier Jerzy Janowicz in five sets 7-6[5] 3-6 2-6 6-3 7-5 to set up a fourth-round clash with Richard Gasquet. 20.54There it is! Benneteau's shot doesn't clear the net and we are all level on Centre Court. Quite simply, the crowd has gone bonkers. 20.53SET! Federer 4-6 6-7[3] 6-2 7-6[6] Benneteau 20.52Benneteau goes long and gives Federer the chance of another set point... 20.51Play continues here thanks to a error from Federer. It's 6-6. 20.50Set point to Federer as Benneteau hits the net... 20.50But Federer now hits long and it's 5-5. 20.49Benneteau's backhand doesn't clear the net and Federer takes a 5-4 lead. 20.48An outrageous return by Federer flies off the net, but Benneteau shows great reactions to scramble across court and win the point. It's 4-4. 20.47Federer regains the lead with a Benneteau error. 20.46Oh dear. A poor volley at the net gives Benneteau the point and it's now 3-3. 20.46Federer gets the mini-break to put himself 3-2 ahead. 20.45Benneteau responds with a strong serve to make it 2-2. 20.44But it's 1-1 as Benneteau does the same. 20.43Federer hits long and concedes the first point. 20.43An up and down game is finished with Benneteau putting a backhand into the net. Such tension on Centre Court as we go into a tie-break. Benneteau to serve. 20.37First blood to Benneteau as Federer hits a forehand long. 20.35It's now Benneteau who holds to love so the third seed will serve again to keep his place in the tournament. 20.33Pressure? What pressure? Federer holds to love to make it 5-5. A defiant statement from the former champion. 20.32Benneteau holds so Federer will serve to stay in this year's Championships. Tense times at the All England Club. 20.31Right, this one can definitely be filed under 'Upset'. Camila Giorgi beats 20th seed Nadia Petrova to set up a fourth-round encounter with Agnieszka Radwanska. 20.29GAME, SET AND MATCH! Petrova 3-6 6-7[6] Giorgi 20.29Thw Swiss gets going on the Benneteau serve with a flicked backhand across court. Delightful stuff. 20.27Federer holds to make it 4-4 in what is becoming an increasingly nervy Centre Court. 20.24Neither man looks like they're going to crack here as Benneteau holds thanks to some terrific groundstrokes from the back of the court. He rounds off the game with his 10th ace of the match. 20.21Centre Court laughs as a wayward Benneteau forehand slams into the umpire's chair. He's alright though as he sees the funny side. Meanwhile, Benneteau miscues another forehand and it's 3-3. 20.18Benneteau holds as Federer puts a backhand long. That was a great chance for the Swiss to break, and uncharacteristic of him to squander it. 20.16The Frenchman then brings it to deuce. Is this a chance wasted for Federer? 20.15The first one is saved by Benneteau after Federer gets his lob wrong. 20.15Now then, Federer sweeps a backhand into the corner and brings up three break points... 20.13Meanwhile, Federer holds to make it 2-2. 20.13Can that be classed as a minor shock? Twenty-sixth seed Mikhail Youzhny knocks out number eight seed Janko Tipsarevic in four sets. The Serbian is usually a threat in the draw but he's packing his bags tonight. 20.12GAME, SET AND MATCH! Youzhny 6-3 6-4 3-6 6-3 Tipsarevic 20.10Benneteau is still giving it his all out there as another forehand winner helps him hold serve. Benneteau shoots long and Federer holds to serve to take this third set. He looked very focused out there and now has a footing in this match. However, Benneteau is still looking dangerous. 19.59SET! Federer 4-6 6-7[3] 6-2 Benneteau 19.58Benneteau keeps the pressure on Federer with a hold of serve, but the six-time winner will now serve for this third set and a route back into the match. 19.57SET! Mayer 7-6[5] 3-6 2-6 6-3 Janowicz 19.55Another error from Benneteau edges Federer closer to this third set as it's now 5-1. 19.51The Frenchman finally holds to make it 4-1. 19.51Benneteau had the chance for a break back in that game, but Federer holds after the Frenchman fires long. It's now 4-0. 19.48GAME, SET AND MATCH! Almagro 3-6 4-6 4-6 Gasquet 19.47Federer has previously won seven matches after losing the opening two sets. Can he do it again this evening? 19.46Oh dear. A disastrous game for Benneteau ends when Federer gets a slice of luck at the net to break again. The number three seed now leads 3-0. 19.45Maria Kirilenko makes light work of Sorana Cirstea in their third-round match, seeing off the Romanian in 74 minutes. She will now face China's Shuai Peng for a place in the quarter-finals. 19.44GAME, SET AND MATCH! Cirstea 3-6 1-6 Kirilenko 19.43Federer back in business with a hold of serve to take a 2-0 lead in this third set. 19.40And he gets the break thanks to a Benneteau double-fault, his sixth of the match. 19.40A vintage Federer backhand down the line brings up a break point for the Swiss. Superb. 19.37The world number 32 still looks composed out there as he gets us underway in this third set, a set Federer has to win to stay in the Championships. 19.35Benneteau hit 18 winners to Federer's 10 in that set, while the Swiss made eight unforced errors to his opponent's three. 19.34Oh my word. Federer hits a shot into the net again and Benneteau goes two sets to love ahead. This is quite a remarkable performance from the Frenchman. 19.33SET! Federer 4-6 6-7[3] Benneteau 19.32Federer hits an ace to cut the deficit. 19.31Benneteau has four set points as Federer finds the net... 19.31Good grief. Another Benneteau ace puts him 5-2 ahead. 19.29Federer goes long to make it 4-2. 19.29The Frenchman finds the net with a backhand volley and it's now 3-2. 19.28Benneteau goes 3-0 up before a Federer ace makes it 3-1. 19.27It's now 2-0 courtesy of a clean backhand winner from Benneteau. 19.26Benneteau strikes first as Federer fires wide. 19.26And we will have a tie-break as Benneteau eventually holds. Federer to serve. 19.24...But Benneteau takes it to a sixth deuce of the game with a wonderfully deft drop shot. 19.22Federer has another set point... 19.20The answer is an no as Benneteau finds the corner. Just. 19.19Chance for Federer now as he brings up set point after Benneteau slams a smash into the net. Can he convert? 19.15SET! Almagro 3-6 4-6 Gasquet 19.14SET! Mayer 7-6[3] 3-6 2-6 Janowicz 19.13That's more like it from Federer. He controlled play from the baseline better in that game to hold. Benneteau will now serve to stay in this second set. 19.10An outrageous forehand winner helps Benneteau hold to make it 5-5. He really is playing out of his skin this evening. 19.09SET! Cirstea 3-6 Kirilenko 19.08UPDATE: Nadia Petrova has just started her third-round tie with Camila Giorgi. 19.05Federer eventually holds to lead 5-4 but Benneteau made it very difficult for him there. 19.03However, Federer uses all of his experience to deliver a kicker of a serve and get it to deuce. 19.02Wow! A beauty of a forehand from the Frenchman brings up a break point. 19.00Excellent again from Benneteau. Federer had forced the game to deuce but an ace and then a sweeping backhand winner down the line gives the Frenchman a hold. 18.58SET! Youzhny 6-3 6-4 Tipsarevic 18.54The Swiss then sees Benneteau's backhand fly behind the baseline to hold serve. That was close for Federer there as his poor error at the net nearly cost him. Very unlike the world number three. 18.52But Federer saves it thanks to a powerful serve. 19.52Oh no! Federer misses a simple volley at the net and Benneteau has a break point. 18.49Benneteau looked to be in trouble for a moment there, but a fizzing serve that Federer can only put into the net makes it 3-3. 18.48SET! Mayer 7-6[5] 3-6 Janowicz 18.46Looking ahead to the next round, I'm sure that Xavier Malisse will want to meet Benneteau rather than Federer. The Belgian is 2-1 up on Benneteau, while he's lost all three of his previous matches with Fed. 18.45A strong response from Federer with a love service game. The Swiss leads 3-2. 18.44UPDATE: Sorana Cirstea's third-round encounter with Maria Kirilenko has just started. 18.43The Frenchman levels it up a 2-2 in this second set as he holds to love. He looks more than a match for Federer here... 18.41Benneteau breaks back! He got the advantage after Federer missed a sitter of a volley before capitalising on a error from the third seed to clinch the game. 18.39We have our second deuce of the game... 18.37SET! Almagro 3-6 Gasquet 18.36That slip doesn't seem to have affected Benneteau as he brings up two break points. 18.36Xavier Malisse comes through a gruelling five-setter to beat Fernando Verdasco. The Belgian will meet either Federer or Benneteau in the fourth round. 18.35GAME, SET AND MATCH! Verdasco 6-1 6-7[5] 1-6 6-4 3-6 Malisse 18.34Federer gets a second break and makes no mistake this time. However, it came thanks to a massive slice of luck as Benneteau slipped behind the baseline. Federer leads 2-0. 18.30The crowd groans as Federer wastes his chance by planting a backhand into the net. 18.29A super forehand winner down the line from Federer brings up a first break point for the Swiss. 18.26Federer gets off to a good start here in the second as he holds to take a 1-0 lead. 18.23SET! Youzhny 6-3 Tipsarevic 18.22A muted applause rings around Centre Court as Federer knocks the ball out of play to hand Benneteau the first set. The Frenchman played some excellent stuff in that opening 38 minutes. Some neat groundstrokes mixed with a powerful serve have seen him land the first blow. Are we about to witness a second shock on the famous court in as many days? 18.21SET! Federer 4-6 Benneteau 18.19Wonderful from Benneteau as a lengthy rally is ended with a sweeping cross-court forehand to make it 30-0. 18.17...He can! The Frenchman returns Federer's second serve and the six-time champion slams a backhand into the net to give Benneteau the chance to serve for the first set. Interesting times on Centre Court. 18.16Break point for Benneteau thanks to a fizzing backhand. Can he take it?... 18.16SET! Istomin will face either Mikhail Youzhny or Janko Tipsarevic in the next round. 18.14Benneteau holds to level this one up at 4-4. 18.13GAME, SET AND MATCH! Falla 3-6 4-6 6-3 6-7[5] Istomin 18.11UPDATE: Nicolas Almagro's third-round match with Richard Gasquet is now underway... 18.10The great and the good are in the crowd on Centre Court this evening, but none are probably dressed as well as editor-in-chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour. 18.08Federer makes light work of his service game there as he goes 4-3 ahead. Here come the new balls. 18.06Super cheeky from Benneteau as a wicked half-volley at the net sees him hold to love and make it 3-3. 18.03These two have played three times before with Federer winning two of the encounters. However, they've never met on grass. 18.02A typically ruthless forehand winner from Federer gives the Swiss a hold of serve. 18.00Thanks, Danielle. Just as I join the action Benneteau holds serve to make it 2-2 as Federer fails to return the Frenchman's serve. 17.57Right, that's me done for the day! Thanks for your company and I'll leave you in the hands of my colleague Jack Prescott, who will take you through the rest of today's play. Enjoy! 17.55The Frenchman's attempts failed to trouble Federer though, who took a 2-1 lead in the first set. Games are currently by the way of serve in these early exchanges. 17.54An unlikely wayward shot from Federer gives Benneteau the point, which he later doubles with a flawless forehand sweeping shot. 17.52Fortunately for Benneteau, the Frenchman manages to draw level on games in the first after a Federer shot falls outside of the line. 17.50The Frenchman fails to convert an advantage and the scoreline goes back to deuce, with Federer close to claiming an early break. 17.49Federer's forehand fires into the net, which gives Benneteau one more point to claim to retain his serve. 17.48Benneteau has thrown away some easy points there, which you don't want to do against the former champion. 17.47While hoping for an exciting match, I'm also curious to see if Federer can actually sweat... 17.46Federer is exerting his dominance in the early stages of this clash with the presence we all know so well. He's taken the first game in the opening set. 17.45Switching to Court 1 briefly and Youzhny and Tipsarevic have just got underway. 17.44And here we go! Federer serves to start the set. 17.43Worth noting that the roof on centre court has been on since 1pm and they intend to keep it on as there is a risk of showers later on. 17.42Meanwhile, on Court 18, Falla and Istomin are battling it out in the fourth set with games going by the way of serve. The score currently sits at 3-6 4-6 6-3 3-4 in favour of Istomin. 17.40GAME SET AND MATCH! Clijsters continues her last-ever Wimbledon campaign after the match was retired on 6-3 4-3 after Zvonareva pulled out due to illness. 17.39You might be interested to know that Federer was named the highest paid tennis player in Forbes's rich-list earlier this month. So on top of having immense talent, he's also rolling in it! 17.36And they're out on the infamous court to warm up! Federer is always a favourite with the Wimbledon crowd and the Swiss pro received a rousing applause when he emerged on the court. 17.36Could this be Federer's year? Some people have begun backing the six-time champion, especially now that Nadal is out of the picture. 17.35The number three seed, who is in great form so far in this tournament, will hope to wrap up this clash following Djokovic's victory earlier today. 17.34Right, next up on centre court is Federer, who will be taking on Benneteau for a spot in the fourth round. 17.32Just a bit of news from Clijsters's clash - Zvonareva has had the doctor out on a number of occasions as she struggles with her breathing but she is battling through. Clijsters currently leads 6-3 2-3. 17.31Meanwhile, Mayer and Janowicz are well underway on Court 12, with Mayer sitting with a 1-0 lead in the early stages of the contest. 17.30GAME SET AND MATCH! Kerber has overcome McHale in an easy 2-6 3-6 win. 17.28As for Radwanska, well the Polish pro could go far in this tournament and she proved her worth after wrapping up today's match in just 55 minutes! 17.27Unfortunately this clash was just a step too far for the British youngster, who will hopefully take the defeat as a learning curve. 17.27GAME SET AND MATCH! And she's done it! Radwanska eases into the fourth round with a 6-0 6-2 victory over Watson. 17.26Now, we're on Radwanska's second match point... 17.24Watson takes the game to deuce! She's held it together but it's probably now a matter of time. 17.23SET! As expected, Malisse grabs the third 6-1 and takes the lead over Verdasco to two sets to one. 17.22Radwanska's play at the net has proved to be a good move for the Polish pro, who equals on 15-15 on Watson's serve. 17.21A powerful forehand across the top of the court gives Watson the first point. She's not giving up yet! 17.20Radwanska needs to break Watson in the next game to secure a place in round four. 17.20A nice little rally there but Radwanska comes out victorious and takes a 5-2 lead in the second. 17.18A cry of frustration from Watson as she relinquishes a point by slamming the ball into the net. 17.17A positive period for Watson there, who takes her service game with surprising ease to make the second set 4-2 in favour of Radwanska. 17.16SET! Falla gets a set back from Istomin by clinching the third 6-3 with Istomin leading two sets to one. 17.15Meanwhile, Malisse has taken a vital break in the third to go 4-1 up over Verdasco. 17.14Watson's joy was short-lived as Radwanska claims a 4-1 lead in the second without any trouble from the Brit. 17.13It will be little consolation considering how the match has gone but a cry from Watson urges the crowd on. 17.12A fantastic serve forces Radwanska to shoot wide and Watson gets her first game of the match! 17.11Watson is two points away from getting her first game on the board here after a strong shot down the line. 17.09The Polish pro is demolishing Watson so far. Unfortunately it doesn't look like Watson will become the first British female into round four since 1996. 17.08And she's got it! Radwanska takes a 3-0 lead in the second, leaving Watson very frustrated. 17.07Advantage again to guess who? Miss Radwanska... 17.07And it's deuce again as Radwanska's shot bobbles off the net into her side of the court. 17.06And it's advantage Radwanska... 17.06A wayward shot snuffs out the point and takes the game back to deuce. 17.05A cry of "come on!" from Watson as she nears a break point! The crowd are also trying to lift the Brit. 17.04A great shot down the line gives Watson a point on Radwanska's serve but unfortunately for the Brit, they are few and far between. 17.03GAME SET AND MATCH! Peng has clinched a 6-1 6-2 victory over Rus and is through to the fourth round. 17.02Another easy game for Radwanska, who looks like she hasn't broken a sweat! She leads 2-0 in the second with a one-set advantage. 17.01Radwanska seems to be too quick on this court and a heavy backhand shot prevents Watson from taking the point as she drives to the net. 16.59A brilliant forehand from Watson gets the crowd going! But the Brit is showing her inexperience here and continues to relinquish points. 16.58SET! Clijsters manages to see out the first set 6-3, leaving Zvonareva with it all to do. 16.58Radwanska managed to retain her serve and take a 1-0 lead in the second while leading by a set over Watson. 16.57Watson fails to dink the ball over the net as she sits 30-30 on Radwanska's serve in the opening game of the second. 16.56A great lofting backhand bounces inside the line to grab the point for Watson. More of this please! 16.54While Watson is struggling, we can't forget that Radwanska has displayed some impressive tennis and controlled her shots with precision over the grass court. 16.52SET! A fantastic set from Radwanska destroys Watson's chances in the early stages of this clash as she grabs the opening set 6-0 with ease. 16.50SET! Istomin is dominating Falla and takes the second set 6-4, which gives him a two-set lead out on Court 18. 16.50Watson didn't have enough to break Radwanska, who wins the game to go 5-0 up in the first. 16.48The duo are tussling back and forth from deuce but Watson will need to make the most of Radwanska's mistakes to get a game in this set. 16.47A lovely sweeping forehand shot gets Watson the point and forces it back to deuce. 16.46Watson fights back on her own serve to make it deuce but Radwanska gets the advantage instantly. 16.44SET! Malisse has fought back on court 3 to take the set 7-6[5], which makes it one-set apiece between him and Verdasco. 16.43Meanwhile, on Court 1 Zvonareva has got a break back and currently trails 3-2 to Clijsters. 16.42Radwanska gets an early double break and Watson will have to dig deep here if she's to get anything out of this opening set. 16.41The Brit could face an early wobble as she fails to come up with answers to Radwanska's attacks. 16.40A decent rally between the pair but Radwanska forces Watson to the net, which doesn't give her time to return to the baseline and get a shot back. 16.38A comfortable game for Radwanska, who takes a quick 3-0 lead in the opening set, while Watson struggles to keep the ball on the line. 16.38SET! Peng has eased through the first set 6-1 over Rus. 16.36Unfortunately for Watson, Radwanska gets the first break of the match. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come for Watson! 16.34Radwanska looks like she could break Watson here as she takes a 30-15 lead on the Brit's serve. 16.32Radwanska retains her service match but Watson has started positively on the centre court! 16.31A fantastic sweeping forehand from Watson takes the game to deuce. Watson looks quite relaxed considering this is the biggest match of her career! 16.20British hopeful Heather Watson is due next on centre court to take on Agnieska Radwanska. All Brits will be keeping their fingers crossed for the 20-year old! 16.19Well, that one went to plan! Djokovic will take on Troicki in the fourth round to make it an all-Serbian tie. 16.16Meanwhile, Zvonareva and Clijsters have begun their third-round match on Court 1. 16.14It was a comfortable victory for Djokovic in the end, despite going a set down to Stepanek, who tried to enforce his game on centre court but the Serbian was too much for him and Djokovic continues to defend his Wimbledon crown. 16.13GAME SET AND MATCH! And he's done it! Djokovic wins by three match points. He defeats Stepanek 4-6 6-2 6-2 6-2. 16.12Djokovic is serving for the match and is just one point away from getting through to round four. 16.09It is 5-2 in favour of Djokovic in the fourth after both competitors held their serve. 16.08Let's just give you a little round up of what's going on around the outer courts at the moment. Verdasco 6-1 2-2 Malisse, Falla 1-6 Istomin and McHale vs. Kerber has just got underway. 16.06Yes he can! The Czech is rejuvenated after claiming that game and he even gets recognition from Djokovic's girlfriend, who applauded his efforts. 16.05A powerful serve gives Stepanek the advantage. Can he make the most of this? 16.05Deuce again! But the lovely shot from Stepanek gets a wry smile from Djokovic. 16.04Fourth break point for Djokovic... 16.03The Serbian throws his racquet in playful frustration after allowing Stepanek the advantage. The Czech will welcome a game on the board but Djokovic will just be one game away from clinching the match. 15.59GAME SET AND MATCH! Sharapova is into the fourth round after claiming the second 6-4, despite a tough fight from Hseih. The world number one takes the match 6-1 6-4. 15.58Advantage Stepanek! A lovely lofty shot over the net takes Djokovic away from the ball but the Serbian gets it back to deuce instantly. 15.57But wait, its back to deuce after an impressive backhand return which flies past the Czech from Djokovic. 15.56Stepanek is a point away from retaining his serve but the Czech will just be playing for pride now. 15.55SET! Verdasco has gone one set to the good over Malisse after executing a very easy 6-1 win. 15.54Djokovic is fully in control of the court, displaying some perfect shots, while Stepanek seems resigned to defeat already. 15.53A nice little rally there but Djokovic managed to force Stepanek to shoot wide after (literally) dropping to his knees to claim the point. 15.52Another easy game for Djokovic gives the Serbian a 4-0 lead and there is very little chance of an upset happening here! 15.51Meanwhile, Sharapova is one game away from clinching the match but will have to break Hseih first! 15.50GAME SET AND MATCH! Troicki has defeated Monaco 7-5 7-5 6-3 after a tough battle on Court 2. 15.49Clearly Rafa's match last night hasn't jinxed the infamous court and Djokovic takes a 3-0 lead in the fourth. 15.48A fantastic sweeping forehand shot down the line gives Djokovic just one point to take the break and he does with ease. 15.45A lovely sliced volley grants a point for Stepanek in Djokovic's game but the Serbian responds instantly by taking the game and a 2-0 lead in the fourth. 15.44Again, Sharapova broke back on Court 1 but Hseih is refusing to give up. The second set is currently 4-4 with Sharapova a set up. 15.43Another wayward shot gives Djokovic the early break, which is the last thing Stepanek would have wanted. 15.42Stepanek misses the shot after catching the ball late and sits 40-0 down on his opening serve. Could be a quick set for Djokovic. 15.41Another easy shot down the line for Djokovic from Stepanek's serve. He has done that countless times in the match today. How many more will he get past the Czech? 15.39Stepanek will have to play his best tennis in order to force through a fifth and final set, but it looks like it could just be a formality for Djokovic now. However, last night showed us that you should never assume... 15.38SET! Djokovic has done his job and grabbed the third set 6-2. The scoreline now sits 4-6 6-2 6-2 in favour of the Serbian. 15.37But Stepanek is making it difficult for his opponent, as he takes the games to 30-30. 15.36Djokovic is now two points away from taking the set, which would be nothing more that the world number one deserves. 15.35On Court 3, Verdasco has taken an early break in the first set to grab a 2-0 lead over Malisse. 15.33Perhaps I spoke too soon! Stepanek converts his advantage with a forehand that Djokovic fails to respond to. The Serbian still leads 4-2 in the third with one set apiece. 15.32We're back at deuce between Djokovic and Stepanek on the Czech's serve and he is really struggling to get a game at the moment. 15.31Oooh Hsieh has broken Sharapova to get a 3-2 lead in the second. 15.29Djokovic's earlier mishap didn't trouble him and he was able to retain his serve and take a 5-1 lead. Stepanek is now serving to stay in the set. 15.28Back to Sharapova's contest and her Chinese opponent is putting up a fight here! The second set is currently 2-2 with Sharapova leading by a set. 15.27That shot didn't go to plan! Djokovic slams the ball into the net, giving Stepanek a 15-0 advantage. 15.25Back to the main court and Stepanek managed to hold his serve but Djokovic remains in control as he leads the third set 4-1 with one set apiece. 15.24Just to let you know that Verdasco and Malisse have just got underway on Court 3. It seems as though the rain has stayed away! 15.22There seems to be a feeling within the court that Djokovic has this set wrapped up. The crowd are oddly quiet today. Nothing like last night's raucous bunch! 15.21But Djokovic takes a 4-0 lead in the third after Stepanek shoots wide. 15.20There's a tussle going on here, with Stepanek and Djokovic toying back and forth to deuce. Djokovic currently has the advantage... 15.18Switching back over to Court 1, Sharapova responded instantly to going a game down by breaking back and resuming control. 15.16Ooooh an overhead shot gives Stepanek the advantage after the Czech blasted his shot to the corner and then ran to the net to find the return and slam it to take the point. 15.15A mistake has allowed Stepanek to reach deuce on Djokovic's serve. The Serbian has been in full control so he won't want to let it slip now. 15.14Interestingly Hseih has broken Sharapova at the first time of asking in the second set. Could this be a start of a comeback? We'll keep you posted! 15.12SET! Troicki has taken the second set 7-5 over Monaco, despite the Argentina professional causing his opponent plenty of problems. Troicki currently leads 7-5 7-5. 15.12It was vital for Stepanek to hold his serve as you would expect Djokovic to push on and take a two-set-to-one lead in this match. 15.10A great rally but Djokovic forced Stepanek to shoot the ball out of bounds, which allowed the Serbian to take another break and go 3-0 up in the third. 15.09SET! Sharapova, as expected, has taken the first set 6-1 after an impressive display against Hsieh. 15.08GAME SET AND MATCH! Lisicki has seen off Stephens in round three after going a set down with a 7-6 1-6 6-2 victory. 15.06Stepanek tried to challenge but his shot was clearly out and Djokovic takes a comfortable 2-0 lead in the third. 15.05The Serbian looks completely in control and has started dominating the court, with Stepanek failing to come up with any answers. 15.04A cry of "Come on!" from Djokovic filled the court after he toom a 1-0 lead in the third and is currently serving to go 2-0 up. 15.03A few mistakes from Stepanek gives Djokovic the advantage, which he takes grasp of and takes a vital break in the early stages. 15.01Despite Djokovic's initial lead, Stepanek manages to take his service game to 40-30 with an executed backhand. 15.00Wonderful backhand from Djokovic, which swooped past Stepanek as the Czech shifted the wrong way and failed to anticipate it. 14.59The third set has begun, with Stepanek losing the first point in his serve after firing the ball into the net. 14.58Despite a fightback from Hsieh, you would expect Sharapova to progress into the fourth round. The number one ranking has been in great form so far at SW19. 14.57Switching to Court 1 briefly, where Sharapova is 3-1 up in the first but her Chinese opponent is making it tough for the Russian. 14.56A very simple game from Djokovic as he successfully draws level on sets. The Serbian looks like he is coming into his own now, while Stepanek looks slightly fatigued. 14.55Two crisp aces from Djokovic there as the reigning champion tries to claim the set and push on for the third. 14.53Djokovic sits 5-2 up in the second and will serve to clinch the set and draw level with his Czech opponent. 14.53Djokovic gets another break after securing a strong forehand, which breezes past Stepanek as the Czech drives up to the net. 14.52Seems like the umpire is loving his job today! Trying to put emphasis on the scoreline when he reads it out, which gets a chuckle from the centre court crowd. 14.50Meanwhile, Sharapova has taken an early break in the first set against Hsieh and currently leads 2-1 in the first. 14.49A well-executed shot down the line gives Djokovic the 15-0 lead on Stepanek's serve and a miss from the Czech gifts Djokovic a 30-0 lead moments later. 14.48Djokovic saves his serve with an overhead shot after coming to the net. The Serbian leads 4-2 in the second while trailing a set. 14.47Djokovic has turned it around and snatches the advantage at game point. 14.46A bit dramatic there from Stepanek, who was hit by the ball on the arm and acted as if he had just been shot! I imagine the ball boy was quietly laughing at him... 14.45Stepanek has the chance to take his first break of the clash and draw level on games at 3-3. 14.44Djokovic had the perfect chance to shoot an over-hit while Stepanek was stumbling away from the court but the Serbian shot wide. 14.43Djokovic is struggling slightly on his serve, with Stapanek taking it to 30-30, with the second set on 3-2 to Djokovic. 14.40Also, slightly earlier Djokovic unfortunately striked his shot at a ball boy next to the umpire's chair. Thankfully the youngster is still smiling... 14.39Back on centre court, Stepanek manages to keep hold of his game and makes the scoreline 3-2, with Djokovic leading. 14.38Also, world number one Sharapova has begun her third-round tie against Hsieh on Court 1. 14.38SET! Stephens has made a comeback to draw level on sets with Lisicki, taking the second 6-1. 14.37And it's gone to deuce! Stepanek continues to come to the net and hits a drop-ball, which Djokovic can't reach in time. 14.36However, a wayward shots stops him from taking two break points. 14.36Meanwhile, back to the important things at hand! Djokovic is one point away from a second break. 14.34The Czech is the oldest competitor at Wimbledon at the age of 33. Interesting..or not. Depending on what you find interesting! 14.34Stepanek looks a bit tired already although I imagine its quite warm in the centre court with the roof on. Or am I just assuming? 14.33Very easy game from Djokovic there, as he takes the lead in the second set 3-1 while still trailing a set. 14.30Stepanek responds to winning his game with a fist-pump as he currently sits with a one-set lead. The scoreline in the second is 2-1 to Djokovic, with Serbian to serve next. 14.29Also, Troicki is taking control on Court 2 after taking a one-set lead, and is currently 3-0 up in the second over Monaco. 14.28Meanwhile, out on Court 3, Stephens is fighting back after going a set down and currently leads 3-1 in the second after snatching a break. 14.26Stepanek tries to deceive Djokovic with a lofty shot over the top but it goes out and the world number one resumes control with a 2-0 lead in the second. 14.24Stepanek forces Djokovic to come to the net but the Serbian's quick feet launches a drop shot and clinches the point. 14.23Djokovic got what he wanted! He's taken the break and sits 1-0 up in the second and will hope to continue in this form to go level on sets. 14.21A lovely shot down the line gives Djokovic the chance to snatch an early break in this second set. 14.21A lovely shot down the line gives Djokovic the chance to snatch an early break in this second set. 14.19Now Djokovic is finding power in his forehand shots and takes the game to 15-15. The Serbian will be desperate to get an early break if he can. 14.19Anyway, back to centre court and Stepanek is 15-0 in the first game of the second set on serve. 14.18GAME SET AND MATCH Querrey is through to round three after overcoming Raonic 6-7 7-6 7-6 6-4. 14.17Has Nadal jinxed centre court?! Of course there's a very long way to go but never say never... 14.16Djokovic will rue the chances he missed to take the break and push on to win the set. Suddenly the world number one, who looked comfortable throughout these early stages is in a bit of trouble. 14.15SET! And he does it! The Czech must have taken some tips from his fellow countryman Rosol because he has taken the set 6-4. 14.14Well, who saw this coming? Stepanek is one point away from taking the set! 14.13What a shot from Stepanek, who takes two points from Djokovic after his shot flew by the Serbian. 14.12Now Djokovic is serving to stay in the set. The Serbian will definitely be hoping for no slip-ups but Stepanek has just grabbed the first point 15-0. 14.11And Stepanek has survived again! The Czech takes it 5-4 and Djokovic can't catch a break! (literally) 14.10SET! After an evenly matched opening set, Troicki takes the first set 7-5 on Court 2. 14.09Djokovic fails to secure a point from the rally as he shoots the ball out and Stepanek gets the advantage on his serve. 14.08Stepanek has forced the scoreline to deuce after the Czech was forced to replay the shot, which was not welcomed by the Serbian. 14.06Djokovic is one point away from getting the crucial break in the set after Stepanek fires a return into the net. 14.05SET! Despite an impressive comeback from 3-0 down, Stephens relinquishes the opening set as Lisicki claims it 7-6[5]. 14.04And the opening set continues to go by the way of serve, with Djokovic securing yet another solid game. Currently 4-4 in the first. 14.02Djokovic is very much in control of his serve as Stepanek fails to convert a challenge, which was ruled out. 13.59And Stepanek survives it yet again. You do wonder though, how long can the 33-year-old save himself from losing his service game? Djokovic will have to get a break soon to secure the opening set. 13.57And we're back at deuce. While Stepanek has shown positive play at the net, the Czech continues to struggle holding his serve. 13.56But Stepanek responds instantly with a volley at the net, which doesn't give Djokovic time to reply. 13.55Lovely shot from Djokovic as Stepanek comes to the net but the Serbian swooped his shot down the line, missing the Czech completely. 13.53Despite relinquishing points, Djokovic claims the game and takes the first set to 3-3, with his opponent up to serve. 13.53Stepanek's journey to the net is causing slight problems for Djokovic after he lost two points for failing to deal with the Czech's shots. 13.50Djokovic will be hoping to get a vital break in the next few games but will have to see out his own first. As it stands the Serbian looks pretty much in control. 13.48After a bit of dueling from deuce to advantage, Stepanek manages to hold his serve after forcing Djokovic to hit his shot out of bounds. 13.46A strong serve saves Stepanek from relinquishing his service game as Djokovic loses the advantage. 13.44Stepanek continuing to struggle to hold his serve with the game currently at 40-40. Djokovic getting ever-closer to snatching a break. 13.42SET! After a battling 10-8 tie-break Querrey takes a two-set-to-one lead over Raonic. 6-7 7-6 7-6. 13.41Stepanek loves coming up to the net! He slams a half volley into the ground to level 15-15 on his serve. 13.40Easy game from Djokovic to take it 2-2 with Stepanek failing to gain any points from the Serbian. 13.39Stepanek keeps having problems with his shoelaces! He held up play before the start of the match and he continues to sort them out on court. He should probably get some new ones... 13.37Despite Djokovic's attempts to get the first break, Stepanek sees out the game and secures a 2-1 lead with Djokovic up to serve. 13.36But it's back to deuce after the short rally after Stepanek shoots the ball wide. 13.35A fierce shot from Stepanek gives the Czech the advantage after Djokovic's stretch couldn't keep the ball in. 13.34Djokovic challenges Stepanek's shot, which does show that the ball was out and the game goes back to 40-30 in the Serbian's favour. 13.31The world number one converts another shot down the line which allows him to draw 15-15 on Stepanek's serve. The Czech is sitting deep behind the baseline, which is making it hard for him to meet Djokovic's shots. 13.30Meanwhile, Querrey and Raonic have forced through a tie-break in the third with the scoreline at one set apiece. 13.29A lofty shot at the net clinches the game for Djokovic. The first set is currently 1-1. 13.27Perfect serve from Djokovic to grab the first point from his opening service game. 13.26Back to centre court and Stepanek takes the first game with an ace but Djokovic is exerting his power in the early stages. 13.25Meanwhile, it's not the best start from Stephens who is trailing 3-0 to Lisicki in the opening set on Court 3. 13.24Lovely shot down the line from Djokovic to grab the lead in the opening game. 13.23Djokovic steals the first point instantly as Stepanek fins his feet in the game but the Czech manages to level at 15-15. 13.22And the third-round clash begins with Stepanek serving for the first game. 13.20Could the Czech Republic score a double following Rosol's win? Stepanek will be hoping so! 13.19The pair head into the match with Djokovic winning five grand slams, while Stepanek has five title wins to his name. 13.17Djokovic and Stepanek are warming up on centre court now and we'll be focusing on this match, while also updating you on what is happened elsewhere. 13.15And we're off! Stephens and Lisicki are underway along with Querrey vs. Raonic and Troicki against Monaco, with Troicki leading 1-0 in the first set. 13.12The roof has come over on centre court so if rain hampers play on the outer courts at least we should have action to report to you from the main one! 13.11I'm sure the players will be itching to get going. The sun is out though! Fingers crossed the worst of the weather has passed. Famous last words? 13.08Meanwhile, Raonic and Querrey are out on Court 1 preparing to finish their second-round match, which currently sits at 6-7[3] 7-6[7] 3-3. 13.06Djokovic and Stepanek will be coming out onto centre court to start warming up for their third-round tie in five minutes! 13.03The players have been called to return to the outer courts. Play should begin in due course. Yay! 13.02Meanwhile, in case you hadn't heard, Watson was named in the Team GB squad for London 2012. Here was her reaction: "It's amazing. Laura Robson , my doubles partner, messaged me as soon as she knew and we were both so happy. Wimbledon's going to look very different during the Olympics and hopefully we can do some damage." 12.56So, the initial 11.30am starts between Troicki and Monaco as well as Stephens and Lisicki should commence soon (we hope). Djokovic and Stepanek should also emerge on centre court at the original time of 1pm. 12.51RAIN ALERT! The covers are coming off the outer courts and there's a glint of sunshine in the sky. Now, stay this way please! 12.59Murray also said in his column that he watched Italy's Euro 2012 2-1 victory over Germany last night. He didn't watch Nadal?! He must have tuned in afterwards, surely. 12.47Just seen shots of Murray hugging a small child while laughing with his mum Judy. See, he's not always moody! 12.46The most standout comment from Murray's BBC column: "You may have seen me using a slightly different racquet in an advert that was released this week. I had a game of swingball with comedian Keith Lemon - he's actually a pretty decent player, although I wasn't convinced by his short shorts!" Yes, really... 12.43Despite his disappointment, Nadal was as humble as ever following his defeat. He told the BBC: "I lost. The sport is simple. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. He was able to hit the ball as hard as he could dream in the fifth set. After winning the fourth 6-2 and playing very well, the opponent arrived in a different way for the decider." 12.41Former British pro John Lloyd thinks that Nadal's loss to Rosol is the biggest shock that Wimbledon has ever seen. Do you agree? 12.39According to BBC Sport there won't be any play until at least 1pm. Go away clouds! 12.37RAIN ALERT! We had a glimmer of hope that the rain had stopped as the covers were removed but they have gone back on and we continue to wait... 12.35Rosol has made his way from the practice courts now and was followed by a hoard of fans requesting autographs and photos. I wonder how many of them had heard of him before last night's encounter? Hmm. 12.33If you've just joined us the reason behind the delay is rain. Surely that can't be a surprise for anyone... 12.32Just to update you, the only play today so far has been between Troicki and Monaco, with Troicki leading 1-0 in the first set. 12.30Sam Querrey and Milos Raonic are first up on Court 1 in order to complete their second-round match which is currently 6-7[3] 7-6[7] 3-3. 12.28Sharapova's match against Su-Wei Hsieh on paper should be an easy ride for the Russian. It's the Chinese 26-year-old's first time in the third round at Wimbledon. 12.25Almagro and Gasquet are the final pair to play on Court 1 today. Almagro has been making it tough for himself leading up to the third round, whereas Gasquet has cruised through his first two matches at SW19. I'm looking forward to seeing how that one pans out. Could be a five-setter! 12.22Tipsarevic against Youzhny could be an interesting match-up this afternoon. Tipsarevic always seems to be in and around the top seeds so we'll see how he gets on later. 12.18It appears that the covers are coming off the courts for an inspection, which means that play is likely to resume shortly. Hurrah! 12.17Did Karlovic have a point or was he just being a sore loser? 12.14The Croat has sparked controversy for his suggestions that the linesmen and women were biased towards the Brit. However, a host of the referees have various nationalities. 12.13If you missed it, this is what Murray's opponent Karlovic had to say when he was foot-faulted 11 times during his defeat to the Scotsman: "It was outrageous, outrageous. It's Wimbledon, Centre Court, and they do this. The whole credibility of this tournament went down for me." 12.11Murray is currently on the practice courts today to prepare for his meeting with Baghdatis tomorrow. Rosol is out there too. I have no idea how, I would definitely be in bed. 12.10Rosol's serve was quite the force last night. Clearly the 40 minute break to put the roof on centre court proved more useful for the Czech. 12.08They're replaying Rosol's victory over Nadal on BBC2 as we await play. Hopefully Rafa's not near a TV at this present time... 12.07Lindsay Davenport on Radwanska: "She's one of the most underrated number 3 ranked players on the WTA." Agree? 12.04RAIN ALERT! It's still drizzling unfortunately and there's no indication as to when play will resume/start. Oh, British summertime, how you cease to amaze me. 12.01Heard enough about Rosol's scalp over Nadal? Well, tough because here's what the surprise winner told the BBC: "I still can't believe it. It is just like a dream. I was in a good zone. After the break I didn't feel anything. Sometimes it is like this. I wasn't even shaking. I just remember the fifth set was very fast, if it took longer maybe I'd have felt the pressure more." 11.59There haven't been as many celebrities filtering through the crowds than I thought there would be. Cliff Richard should be called on every time it rains, no? 11.58Watson arguably has the hardest tie today, with Radwanska displaying the best of her game in recent months over the women's tour. 11.54We could see some drop shots from the Czech and he enjoys coming to the net but I think that the world number one has enough to claim victory today. 11.53Djokovic could face a tough test against Stepanek later, who has a very unique style of play and is likely to relish playing on centre court. 11.51There's always a chance of an upset, which we saw last night (I'm still in shock!). However, Federer has been in scintillating form in this tournament and I expect him to secure a spot in the last 16. 11.49Six-time champion Federer is taking on Benneteau this afternoon. And the Swiss pro recently lost to the Frenchman in Paris, which Benneteau will be hoping to draw on when they meet later. 11.48While we wait, let's have a look at Djokovic and Federer's respective matches today... 11.48I'll let you know when there's confirmation of play restarting. 11.47Looks like it's a waiting game now until the showers pass, which hopefully shouldn't be too long. 11.46Stephens and Lisicki have also been forced to leave Court 3 because of the weather and the covers are coming on. 11.45The brollies are out on Henman Hill, Murray Mound, whatever you like to call it! 11.44I have a feeling I spoke too soon because Troicki and Monaco have left the court due to rain. Not the best start to the day! 11.41Right, Troicki and Monaco have kicked off today's play out on Court 2 and Troicki has gone 1-0 up on his serve in the early stages of this clash. 11.40Could this be a good omen for the Scotsman, who is desperate to grab his first grand slam title? 11.39While many were disappointed to see Nadal out of the contest so early, I'm sure it would have been welcomed by Murray, who was drawn to play the Spaniard in the semi-finals. 11.38The BBC are currently showing replays from Rosol's win over Nadal last night. The 26-year-old's forehand got up to 95mph after four hours of play! Quite incredible. 11.37Play on the outer courts should get underway soon with Viktor Troicki vs. Juan Monaco and Sloane Stephens vs. Sabine Lisicki starting off the day. 11.35There are showers forecast for this afternoon but fingers crossed it won't stop play for too long today! 11.33It's a huge task for 20-year-old Watson today but I'm sure she'll have the British crowd behind her when she takes on Radwanska on the infamous centre court. 11.32After last night's shock, I wonder if the likes of Djokovic and co will be slightly nervous ahead of their matches? 11.29Anyway, back to today! I have a feeling the weather may come become a problem throughout the day's play but hopefully my instinct is wrong! 11.27The issue over money has been rumbling on for years but the Frenchman's suggestion didn't sit well with Sharapova, who said: "No matter what anyone says, or the criticisms that we get, despite everything else, I'm sure there are a few more people that watch my matches than his." Meow! 11.25There has also been a bit of drama off the court with Gilles Simon demanding that male professionals should be awarded more prize money than the women. 11.23It was a bitter defeat for Ward, who displayed an impressive performance against Mardy Fish, but after a five-set battle, Ward didn't have enough to clinch it. 11.21While Murray continues to fly the flag, unfortunately it was the end of the road for his fellow Brits Anne Keothavong, Elena Baltacha and James Ward. 11.19British number one Andy Murray successfully claimed a spot in the third round. The Scotsman lost a set but managed to regain dominance and see off Ivo Karlovic in three sets to one. 11.18With all the drama surrounding Nadal and Rosol you may have forgotten the other results from yesterday, so let's just remind ourselves... 11.16There is one problem that may hamper today's play and that is the dreaded rain! But let's keep everything crossed that we can get through the schedule without much disruption. 11.15There's plenty of tennis going on throughout the day, which of course we will keep you up-to-date with! 11.13The early starts today at the All England Club consists of Viktor Troicki vs. Juan Monaco and Sloane Stephens vs. Sabine Lisicki. 11.11Kim Clijsters will be hoping to continue competing in her last-ever Wimbledon tournament when she meets Vera Zvonareva this afternoon. 11.10World number one Maria Sharapova, who has been in fine form so far at SW19, will go up against Su-Wei Hsieh on Court 1 for a place in the fourth round. 11.08Our very own Heather Watson faces a tough contest against Agniezska Radwanska this afternoon but if successful, Watson will be the first British female pro to reach the last 16 since 1996. No pressure then! 11.07You would expect both top seeds to progress into the fourth round today but after last night I think it's safe to say that anything can happen! 11.06Anyway let's focus on today's schedule! Novak Djokovic takes to centre court at 1pm for his third-round clash with Radek Stepanek, while Roger Federer is due on the infamous court around 5pm to play Julien Benneteau. 11.04Credit it to Rafa though, who said this after his defeat: "In the fifth set he played more than unbelievable. That's fine. Before, first three sets, I didn't play well." 11.01It was a great scalp for the world number 100 and it was arguably the biggest shock of the tournament so far! The Czech pro served like a man possessed after the match was forced into a fifth set. 11.00Hello all! Well, have you all recovered from last night yet? If you didn't hear, which is unlikely, Rafael Nadal was knocked out of the tournament by second-round opponent Lukas Rosol.
