Former world number one Boris Becker believes that Rafael Nadal should consider his future on the grass court after his shock first-round defeat at Wimbledon.
The Spaniard, who seemed to be struggling from a recurring knee injury, was beaten in straight sets by world number 135 Steve Darcis.
Having been knocked out in the second round at SW19 in 2012, Becker feels that it is time for Nadal to evaluate whether or not to carry on playing on the grass court.
"He definitely has to consider whether grass has a future for him," three-time Wimbledon winner Becker told BBC Sport.
"I almost thought that he should contemplate not playing this year."
Nadal is currently ranked as the world number five.
