Eugenie Bouchard has insisted that she is trying to stay grounded after reaching the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the first time.
The 20-year-old Canadian defeated Alize Cornet 7-6(5) 7-5 in the fourth round on Monday to progress at SW19.
While admitting that these are heady times in her fledgling career, Bouchard is now focusing on making it through to the semi-finals.
"I'm proud with the way I fought out there," she is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "I am very excited about reaching the quarter-finals, but I need to stay focused and not get distracted.
"This is what I have worked so hard for, but I cannot get carried away and distracted."
Bouchard will take on either Angelique Kerber or Maria Sharapova in the last eight.
