Novak Djokovic has described his victory over Juan Carlos Ferrero during round one at Wimbledon earlier today as "encouraging".
Having been broke at the first time of asking by Ferrero, the world number one went on to record a relatively comfortable 6-3 6-3 6-1 win on Centre Court.
Despite admitting that Ferrero gave him a stern challenge, Djokovic believes that there was plenty in his performance to be positive about.
"It's never easy to play against Ferrero on any surface," said Djokovic. "I thought he showed his quality in the first two sets but I really found form in the third. It was very encouraging."
Djokovic is the defending champion at SW19.
