John McEnroe has predicted that Serena Williams will be the first woman to win 25 Grand Slams in the sport following her triumph at Wimbledon.
The 33-year-old defeated Garbine Muguruza in straight sets to claim her sixth title at the All-England Club and her 21st major win.
McEnroe believes that Williams has the ability to overtake Margaret Court to become the first woman to win 25 Grand Slams in the Open Era.
The American told BBC Sport: "Serena Williams will get to 25 Grand Slams and some annoying person somewhere will come up with another achievement that she hasn't done and she will figure out another way to motivate herself to keep going.
"It comes down to health at the end of the day. If you are still playing well, arguably better, it is pretty hard to stop. If she is able to handle nerves etc, she will be able to go as long as she wants to."
Williams also completed the 'Serena Slam' as she currently holds all four Grand Slam titles.
