Andy Murray and Roger Federer are drawn in the same half for Wimbledon, meaning that the British hopeful will avoid a potential quarter-final meeting with Rafael Nadal.

Andy Murray and Roger Federer have been drawn in the same half for the Wimbledon Championships, meaning that the Scot will avoid a potential quarter-final against Rafael Nadal.

There were suggestions that the British number one would come face to face with the Spaniard in the final eight due to Nadal being seeded fifth for the Grand Slam at SW19.

However, if the matches go by the way of seedings, Murray could meet Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarter-finals, while Novak Djokovic and fourth seed David Ferrer have been drawn in the top half.

Nadal has been drawn in Federer's quarter, meaning that the pair could go up against each other for a place in the semi-finals, while Djokovic could meet Tomas Berdych in the final eight.

A tough first round awaits Gilles Simon, who will take on Feliciano Lopez, while Nadal will get his grass-court campaign underway with a clash against Steve Darcis.

Djokovic faces a difficult opening test against Florian Mayer, while Ferrer will take on Martin Alund in the first round of the tournament.

Federer will have to overcome Victor Hanescu in his first game of the tournament, where he could win his eighth Wimbledon title, while Murray will play German Benjamin Becker, whom the Scot beat during the Aegon Championships at Queen's.
