Andy Murray has revealed that he was "not surprised" by the difficult test posed by Kazakhstan's Mikhail Kukushkin in the first round of Wimbledon.
The number three seed secured his place in the second round of the competition with a straight-sets victory over the 27-year-old, but he did face a tough battle to get over the line in the second set especially.
Murray told BBC Sport: "I was not surprised, I have seen some of his results when he has played on the big courts.
"There is definitely work to be done for but my opponent played very well and made it very difficult for me to play offensive. He made it very uncomfortable for me."
Murray will face Robin Haase in the second round of the competition.
