Andy Murray admits that losing at Wimbledon is more disappointing than tasting defeat anywhere else on the circuit following his semi-final defeat to Roger Federer.

Andy Murray has conceded that losing at Wimbledon hurts more than any other Grand Slam following his semi-final defeat to Roger Federer.

The Swiss was in imperious form as he claimed a straight-sets victory over the British number one to earn the chance to win the title at the All-England Club for an eighth time.

Murray has revealed that he was satisfied with his own performance, but felt that he was undone by the quality of the 33-year-old.

He told BBC Sport: "Losing at Wimbledon is especially tough because I feel like it's my best surface and I get incredible support, so it's probably my best chance to win another Grand Slam.

"We'll see over the next few days if it makes the disappointment easier to bear this time, but it's not like I came off the court and thought that I did something stupid or played some ridiculous shots at the wrong times. Roger just played great and deserved to win."

Federer will face Novak Djokovic in the final on Sunday.
