Andy Murray reflects on his "extra special" victory against Milos Raonic in the Wimbledon final.

Andy Murray has suggested that his Wimbledon triumph was "extra special" because of tough losses in previous Grand Slam finals.

The Scot, who was beaten by Novak Djokovic in the French Open final last month, beat big-serving Milos Raonic to win his second title at SW19.

Speaking after his third Grand Slam victory, Murray claimed that this triumph was made sweeter by those "tough losses".

He told BBC Sport: "This the most important tournament for me every year. I've had some great moments here but also some tough losses. The wins feels extra special because of the tough losses.

"I played really good stuff today. Milos has had a great few weeks on the grass and had some unbelievable wins; that semi-final against Roger was a great, great match.

"He is one of the harder workers out there and each time we play against each other he's made big improvements."

Murray could feature in Great Britain's Davis Cup quarter-final against Serbia next weekend.
