Fourth seed Stanislas Wawrinka has described his straight-sets win over Belgium's David Goffin at Wimbledon as an "important victory" for him.
The French Open champion is in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon for just the second time in 11 appearances, having made the last eight for the first time in his career in 2014.
The Swiss told reporters: "It was a tough one. But I am really happy with the victory, especially in three sets. I wasn't moving great and was a little bit soft in general. But I am happy to get through. This was an important victory for me."
Wawrinka will face France's Richard Gasquet for a spot in the semi-finals tomorrow.
