Wimbledon preview: Gentlemen's Singles

Ahead of next week's Wimbledon Championships, Sports Mole takes a look at some of the contenders for the Gentlemen's Singles title.

With Wimbledon getting underway on Monday, this year's Gentlemens' Singles draw is expected to be one of the most hotly contested of recent times at the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

Sports Mole takes a look at a handful of contenders who have a chance of getting their hands on the famous trophy at SW19.

Novak Djokovic (SRB):
The world number one and top seed is rightly the favourite to retain his title this year. However, the 25-year-old has lost his aura of invincibility this season and will be looking to put right disappointing clay court campaign by his standards. That said, his style of play is perfect for grass and he can dismantle anyone on his day.
Odds: 7/4

Rafael Nadal (SPA):
The second seed goes into the tournament full of confidence on the back of a record seventh French Open triumph at Roland Garros. It would be a shock to see the dogged Spaniard not reach at least the semi-finals, where he could meet Andy Murray.
Odds: 9/4

Roger Federer (SUI):
The 30-year-old will be the oldest male player in the Open era since Arthur Ashe's triumph in 1975 if he is victorious at this year's Championships. The six-time winner has been out of sorts so far this season with a recent straight-sets defeat to Tommy Haas in the final at Halle a particular shock. But the All England Club is his yard and he is always capable of pulling something special out of the velvet-lined bag.
Odds: 11/2

Andy Murray (GBR):
The Scot goes into the tournament in worrying form after losing all three of his warm-up matches on grass. With David Ferrer and Rafael Nadal on his side of the draw, Murray will have to sharpen up and fast if he is to get past the semi-finals for the first time.
Odds: 10/1

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA):
The enigmatic Tsonga is probably still haunted by his quarter-final defeat to Djokovic in the French Open having squandered four match points on home turf. A surprise early exit at Queen's hasn't helped his cause on grass, but he has it in him to get past the top players.
Odds: 25/1

Milos Raonic (CAN):
With two ATP titles under his belt this year, the top seeds will want to avoid the 21-year-old Canadian at this year's tournament. With an exceptional amount of power and skill to his game, Raonic has the chance to make waves at the All-England Club.
Odds: 33/1

Also watch out for:
Tomas Berdych (CZE): 33/1
Juan Martin Del Potro (ARG): 50/1
David Ferrer (SPA): 80/1
Janko Tipsarevic (SRB): 150/1
Richard Gasquet (FRA): 200/1
