Number three seed Simona Halep has been knocked out of Wimbledon in the first round by Slovakia's Jana Cepelova.
Cepelova could not have wished for a worse start as she was broken by Halep at the first time of asking, with the Romanian moving into a commanding 2-0 lead.
Cepelova provided some resistance having collected a promising game off her own serve, but it proved too little with Halep racing ahead to claim the first set 7-5 following another impressive break in game seven.
In the second set, the 22-year-old attacked the serve of Halep to yield three breaks, which was enough to fend off the challenge of the number three seed to level the match by clinching the set 6-4.
Cepelova continued to show her dominance against Halep's serve as the Romanian struggled to match her opponent's intensity and crashed out of the competition when the Slovak secured the set 6-4 to advance to the next round.
The 22-year-old will now face off against Monica Niculescu in the second round.
