Novak Djokovic comes through a four-set battle against Grigor Dimitrov to reach the Wimbledon final.

Novak Djokovic is on course to secure his second Wimbledon title after battling past Grigor Dimitrov in a tough four-set encounter in the semi-final at the All England Club.

The former world number one will face either Roger Federer or Milos Raonic in the final after securing a 6-4 3-6 7-6(2) 7-6(7) on Centre Court this afternoon.

The top seed took full control of the opening proceedings as he stormed through his service games and earned an early break, with Dimitrov failing to gain a single point.

Games continued by way of serve for the remainder of the set, which meant that Djokovic's only break was enough for the Serbian to whip through and take a one-set lead.

Dimitrov was in danger of getting dominated on the grass surface after losing another early service game in the second set, but he eventually bounced back with a break of his own after Djokovic squandered the chance to take a double break.

After holding comfortably, Dimitrov fought his way back into the contest after two break points to serve for the set and draw level.

It was a tight affair in the third set as both remained stubborn on their service games, and despite both players showing swift movement around the court, a tie-break was needed to find the breakthrough.

Dimitrov had impressed with his comeback, but his decision-making in the set decider let him down as Djokovic eased through the tie-break 7-2 to regain the lead.

It was a poor start from Dimitrov, who beat Andy Murray to reach the final four, as he lost his second service game in the fourth set due to three double faults.

Djokovic was able to capitalise on the Bulgarian's dip in form, but it didn't last long as Dimitrov immediately responded to break back and level the set 2-2.

Both competitors had the chance to move on top, but Djokovic squandered two break points, while his Bulgarian opponent missed out on three as the set edged closer to another tie-break.

Dimitrov came close to upsetting the top seed in the 10th game with a set point, but the Serbian's experience shone through as he kept composed to hold his game.

Another tense tie-break was required to decide the set, and despite Dimitrov having three set points, Djokovic was able to earn a break to move on top and clinch the victory.
