Novak Djokovic has defeated Kei Nishikori in four sets this afternoon to remain on course for a fourth Wimbledon title in seven years.
The 12th seed came out on top 6-3 3-6 6-2 6-2 to maintain his impressive run against Nishikori and book his place in a first semi-final here since 2015.
Nishikori twice had his serve broken in the opening set to fall behind in the contest, but he responded well by taking a gruelling opening game in the second set, before breaking Nishikori in the fourth.
Having saved four break points on his way to levelling up the match at 1-1, the world number 28 was unable to match the resilience showed by his rejuvenated opponent from that point on.
Djokovic, champion in 2011, 2014 and 2015, held in a crucial third set and then fought back from a break down in the final set to get himself over the line.
One of Juan Martin del Potro or Rafael Nadal, due to face off this afternoon, now awaits in the final four.
