Kirsten Flipkins has booked her place in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon with a 7-6 6-3 victory over Flavia Pennetta of Italy.
An incredible six breaks of serve occurred in the opening set of the match, with three apiece moving the set into a tie-break that Flipkins secured 7-2 to move into the lead.
Both players held their opening two service games of the second set, but a break for Flipkens in the next game allowed the Belgian to move into the lead.
Pennetta did manage to secure a break of her own in the latter stages, but another break at 3-5 allowed Flipkens to book her spot in the next round, where she will face Petra Kvitova.
