John Isner has come through a rain-affected first-round match against Marcos Baghdatis on top with a straight-sets victory at Wimbledon.
The American 18th seed finished off the clash on Friday with a 7-6(2) 7-6(5) 6-3 win after a lengthy delay due to poor weather.
Games went by the way of serve in the early stages of the opening set, and a tie-break was required when both players earned a break apiece.
Isner managed to seal the breaker, but he suffered a wobble at the start of the second when he lost serve, although he eventually broke back, forcing another tie-break.
Once again, the American was successful and it was a simpler third set for Isner as he wrapped it up in just half an hour to book his spot into the next round.
