Madison Keys will face Simona Halep for a place in the Wimbledon quarter-finals after battling past Alize Cornet on Saturday evening to progress through.
The world number nine took the match in three sets, sealing a 6-4 5-7 6-2 victory to book a last-16 spot and close in on her previous-best finish at SW19.
A loss of serve for Keys in the opening game provided an early scare, but the American fought back well to break her opponent three times en route to taking the opening set.
It was a similar story in the second set, with both players struggling to hold their service game, but in the end it was Cornet who did enough to level up the contest.
Keys found life a little easier in the final set, racing into a 4-0 lead which proved unassailable in the end.
