Kei Nishikori has progressed through to the Wimbledon third round after overcoming the challenge of Julien Benneteau in four sets.
The fifth seed dropped the opening set but he comfortably negotiated the Frenchman's game for the remainder of the match as he came through by a 4-6 6-4 6-4 6-2 scoreline.
Injury has seen Benneteau suffer a drop in the world rankings but he showed his touch on a grass court by moving into the lead against his Japanese opponent.
However, Nishikori soon found his consistency, which was enough to wear Benneteau down over the course of the next two sets, and he could find no response in the fourth.
Nishikori breezed into a 5-1 advantage and although Benneteau reduced the deficit, he was unable to break the Japanese's serve as the former US Open runner-up set up a last-32 clash with Andrey Kuznetsov.
