World number one Rafael Nadal progressed to the fourth round of Wimbledon courtesy of a 6-1 6-2 6-4 victory over Alex De Minaur on Saturday afternoon.
Nadal, who has not won Wimbledon since 2010, needed just 34 minutes to claim the opening set as he secured two breaks of serve in the London heat.
De Minaur managed to hold his first two service games of the second set, but Nadal secured breaks of serve at 2-2 and 2-4 before serving out the second set to give his opponent plenty to do.
The Australian was competing in the third round of a Grand Slam for the very first time, and the teenager gave a positive account of himself in the third and what proved to be final set.
Nadal managed just one break of serve at 2-2, but that proved decisive as the Spaniard held his next three service games to book his spot in the fourth round of the competition.
