Andy Murray has booked his place in the second round of Wimbledon courtesy of a straight-sets victory over fellow Brit Liam Broady.

The number two seed took less than two hours to see off his compatriot 6-2 6-3 6-4 on Centre Court and set up a meeting with Lu Yen-Hsun.

Murray got his Wimbledon campaign off to a flying start by easing into a 3-0 lead in the opening set, and Broady rarely threatened to recover from that early setback.

Indeed, Murray lost just eight points throughout the opener, breaking again in the final game with his first set point to wrap it up 6-2.

The British number one was again dominant in the second set, and a break in the fourth game proved to be the decisive moment as Murray comfortably held serve throughout to win it 6-3.

Another break in the opening game of the third set put the Scot in complete control, but Broady did at least show some fighting spirit in saving three break points in the fifth game to prevent Murray from moving 4-1 ahead.

The remainder of the set went with serve, though, as Murray eased to a 6-4 victory to take him into the second round at SW19.
