Stanislas Wawrinka has eased into the fourth round at Wimbledon with a straight-sets victory over Fernando Verdasco.
The French Open champion and the Spaniard shared the opening eight games of the match, but Wawrinka got a break against his opponent's serve to leave him to serve out the first set.
The fourth seed's backhand helped set up an early break in the second, while he continued to give Verdasco few chances on the return, allowing him to wrap up a 2-0 lead after just over an hour of play.
Wawrinka had break point in the opening game of the third set, but Verdasco recovered to keep it on serve, although the two-time Grand Slam winner wore him down in a lengthy game midway through the set.
Wawrinka will face Belgium's David Goffin, who is seeded 16th, in the next round.
