Ana Ivanovic has sealed her first win in the Red Group at the WTA Finals by beating Eugenie Bouchard 6-1 6-3 in Singapore.
Both players had lost their opening round-robin matches, but Ivanovic showed early intent in today's contest by breaking the Canadian's serve at the first time of asking.
Bouchard struggled to respond by losing her second service game and could only get a single game on the board as Ivanovic took a one-set lead.
It was a closer contest in the second set as both players relinquished opening service games, and despite Bouchard initially saving five break points in the seventh game, Ivanovic eventually got the break.
Bouchard tried to fight back, but she squandered two break points as Ivanovic held and then broke her opponent once again to wrap up the match.
