Team GB trampolinist Katherine Driscoll has told Sports Mole that the podium format of the European Games in Baku will help her ahead of the Rio Olympics.
The 29-year-old made the women's individual final in the Azerbaijani capital on Wednesday after putting in two strong performances.
With the 2016 Olympics just over a year away, Driscoll believes that competing for places on a podium in Baku should provide her with good preparation.
"We don't ever compete on podiums other than at Olympic Games, so for us it's a huge deal to be able to compete on a podium again because it feels very different to how things are normally structured," she said.
"It's important for us to get that again before we get to Rio. That's the biggest thing to take from here, that we're never on podiums."
Driscoll, who took part in London 2012, is a seven-time World Championship medallist.
