Alistair Brownlee has said that he "thought about" waiting for brother Jonathan Brownlee towards the end of the Commonwealth Games triathlon race this afternoon.
Alistair claimed gold 11 seconds ahead of his sibling in Motherwell, but feared the consequences of holding off at the end of the race to pass the line together.
"I thought about it, but we would get told off [if we did]!" Alistair told reporters at a press conference.
South Africa's Richard Murray, meanwhile, claimed bronze on what was a searing afternoon.
