Alex Yee has claimed the silver medal for Team GB in the men's triathlon at the Tokyo Olympics.

The 23-year-old led for much of the final discipline - the 10km run - but was overtaken by Norway's Kristian Blummenfelt in the final kilometre and ultimately finished 11 seconds back for second place.

New Zealand's Hayden Wilde finished in third place, 20 seconds back, while GB's Jonny Brownlee came in a respectable fifth place.

Yee's silver represents the third medal for Team GB in Tokyo, adding to the taekwondo silver and judo bronze from Sunday's programme.

Brownlee and Yee now go on to compete in the mixed relay event on Saturday.
