North Korea's Rim Jong Sim has won the gold medal in the final of the women's 69kg weightlifting tournament after taking a substantial lead in the snatch and finishing it off by lifting the 146kg in the clean and jerk.
Dzina Sazanavets was leading towards the final lifts of the clean and jerk contest after successfully holding the 141kg until 19-year-old Rim Jong Sim completed a lift of 142kg on her first attempt.
Romania's Roxana Daniela Cocos was close to challenging for gold but was forced to settle for silver after she failed to lift the 146kg on her third attempt.
Maryna Shkermankova guaranteed the bronze medal for Belarus after lifting the 143kg on the clean and jerk after equalling points with Sazanavets in second, but a larger body weight helped clinch the honour.
