Austria skier Anna Fenninger has won gold in today's alpine skiing women's super-G event at the Sochi Winter Olympics.
The 24-year-old finished with a time of 1:25.52 to land first place, a vast improvement on her 16th-placed result four years ago in Vancouver.
Meanwhile, Germany's Maria Hoefl-Riesch won her second medal of the Games as she claimed a silver to go with the gold that she won in the super-combined event.
Fenninger's compatriot Nicole Hosp secured the bronze medal in an event that saw a total of 18 competitors fail to complete the course.
Great Britain's Chemmy Alcott came 23rd with a time of 1:29.14, six months after breaking her leg, the third time she had suffered a similar injury.
