Pyeongchang has been revealed as the host of the 2018 Winter Olympics.
The South Korean county beat bids from Munich an Annecy to host the country’s first winter games, having lost out to Vancouver for 2010 and Socchi for 2014.
Members of the International Olympic Committee selected Pyeongchang with 64 of 95 votes.
“I will make a good Olympics,” said South Korea president Lee Myung-bak. “This is a victory for the Koreans, thank you to them.”
The nation earned six gold medals at last year’s event.
