Great Britain skier Rowan Cheshire has been knocked unconscious after falling on her face while training for the heats of the women's half-pipe event at the Sochi Winter Olympics, according to reports.
She reportedly remained unconscious for several minutes and left the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park on a stretcher.
The British Olympic Association's statement on Cheshire read: "Team GB half-pipe skier Rowan Cheshire was injured this evening during half-pipe training.
"She was immediately taken from the course and is currently at the polyclinic in the Mountain Village, where she is being evaluated by Team GB medical personnel."
The 18-year-old, who claimed her first major victory at a World Cup event in Canada this season, is ranked seventh in World Cup standings and is the top-ranked woman on the British half-pipe team.
