Great Britain skier Murray Buchan has praised the condition of the Sochi halfpipe, despite a number of athletes calling the facilities into question.
The start of the Winter Olympics was marred by controversy as athletes from all over the globe said the Rosa Khutor surface was not up to Olympic standard, but Buchan has said that the halfpipe is "really good"
He told BBC Sport: "The shape of the halfpipe is actually really good. They've put a lot of salt in it, so it's a lot firmer than it was.
"The skiers are lucky going after the snowboarders because it meant the park crew had time to sort out the problems.
"It's difficult when there is so much sun on it all day, but the temperature has dropped so it's actually been really good the last couple of days."
Buchan will compete in the halfpipe qualifying tomorrow.
