Great Britain curler Eve Muirhead says that winning an Olympic medal is "amazing" but admits to already having an eye on the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

Great Britain's women's curling skip Eve Muirhead has spoken of her joy of winning a bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

Muirhead's team beat Switzerland on Thursday, becoming the youngest ever team to claim a curling medal, with an average age of just 23.

The skip held her nerve in the final end, scoring a single point to edge the Swiss 6-5.

"Words can't describe it, it hasn't really sunk in," Muirhead admitted to BBC Sport. "It was a great game, we were chasing in the first half of the match and we stepped it up the second half.

"When you look at our success over the last couple of years, the one medal we were missing was the Olympic medal and we have got that now. I am so happy, we are all pushing each other and it makes it more fun to win something.

"It is a massive sigh of relief, mentally it's tiring as it's been a long few days."

Following the securing of third place, Team GB chef de mission Mike Hay tipped Muirhead for more success at the 2018 Games in Pyeonchang, South Korea.

Muirhead said: "Well we've got an Olympic medal now which is amazing, but we're a young team and will look to turn it into gold in 2018."

With four medals, Sochi 2014 has been Team GB's most successful Winter Olympic Games for 90 years.
