Team GB Chef de Mission Mike Hay has lauded the performance of Great Britain snowboarder Jenny Jones, claiming that she "will go down in the record books" for her bronze medal in the slopestyle event in Sochi earlier today.
The 33-year-old became the first ever British competitor to win an Olympic medal in a snow sport.
"This is a fantastic accomplishment for Jenny and a great moment for our entire delegation," Hay told reporters.
"Jenny will go down in the record books as the first-ever member of Team GB to win an Olympic medal in a snow sport.
"There is a strong spirit of camaraderie and support across our entire delegation, and I know every member of Team GB is proud of Jenny and delighted to see her have this special moment."
Earlier this afternoon, the mayor of Bristol suggested that the city may throw a special homecoming event for the bronze medallist.
