Great Britain skier James Woods is said to be "progressing well" after suffering an injury in training.

The 22-year-old, who is due to compete in the ski slopestyle event at the 2014 Winter Olympics on Thursday, picked up the injury to his hip following a fall last week.

Despite Woods not being able to fully take part in training, Team GB Chief Medical Officer Niall Elliot believes that the Yorkshireman is on track for this week's event.

"Following a fall in training on Friday, James has received physiotherapy and medical treatment for a hip injury," Elliot is quoted as saying in a British Olympic Association statement.

"He is progressing well and returned to training today as expected. He didn't complete all the training but this was very much part of the plan."

Britain have so far picked up one medal, courtesy of Jenny Jones, who won bronze in the snowboard slopestyle event yesterday.
