Great Britain athlete Lizzy Yarnold has expressed nervousness at the prospect of carrying the Union Jack flag at the Sochi Olympics closing ceremony today.
The 25-year-old, who secured Team GB's only gold medal at this year's Winter Games in the women's skeleton, also spoke of how the last two weeks have been 'the best of her life'.
Yarnold told BBC Sport "I'm getting a little bit nervous [about the opening ceremony] but it is such an honour. It has been the best few weeks of my life. I can't wait to get out there and fly the flag for Team GB.
"I've made a lot of friends in the team and I didn't really expect that beforehand. We have all come from so many different backgrounds and different cultures within sport, but we are similar in that we are all striving to do our best and represent our country."
Short track speed skater Jon Eley was named as the flagbearer for Team GB to lead them out at the opening ceremony.
