United States snowboarder Danny Davis has said that he is pleased with the team's showing in the Winter Olympics, despite failing to get among the medals.
Shaun White, who was the favourite for the half-pipe competition, finished fourth in the event while Davis and compatriot Gregory Bretz finished 10th and 12th respectively.
However, Davis believes that the members of the US squad gained good exposure through competing at the Sochi Games.
"Well, fourth was a gift, first of all," the Canberra Times quotes Davis as saying.
"You know it's good for snowboarding, man. The world knows now that there are other snowboarders besides Shaun. It's great, man, because there are a bunch of good riders in our sport and they deserve some credit, too."
Switzerland's Iouri Podladtchikov claimed the gold medal with a score of 94.75.
