United States skier Sarah Hendrickson has admitted that she was "proud" to become the first woman to jump in the women's ski jumping event in the Winter Olympics.
Hendrickson was given the number one bib and as a result became the first woman to perform in the newly-formed event added to the Games in Sochi.
"When I was given the bib number, I didn't realise the significance of it, but I was the first girl ever to jump in an Olympic event," she told reporters.
"That's something special to grasp onto and I'm proud of that."
The 19-year-old finished 21st in the event with a score of 217.6.
