Team USA's Chris Creveling says that he was not impressed with the under-foot conditions during the men's 1500m short track speed skating event at the Sochi Games.

Former world champion Chris Creveling was not impressed with the under-foot conditions during the men's 1500m short track speed skating event at the Sochi Games on Monday.

The 27-year-old from the United States was eliminated in the heats, but he refused to blame his exit on the "bad ice".

"It's like a puddle for us, but it's the same ice for all of us. There's a lot of jostling and bumping, which is what happens with bad ice," Creveling told reporters.

Canada's Charles Hamelin claimed gold in the event, while Han Tianyu of China and Victor Ahn of Russia took silver and bronze respectively.
