Predicting the WrestleMania XXX undercard matches

:Headline: Predicting the WrestleMania XXX undercard matches: ID:141273: from db_amp
Sports Mole projects the possible WrestleMania XXX undercard now that the main matches for the April 6 showpiece in New Orleans seem to be in place.

WrestleMania XXX is less than six weeks away and the top of the card is largely in place.

Randy Orton's Wyatt Family and Kane-assisted defence of his WWE World Heavyweight Championship inside the Elimination Chamber ensured that he will face former Evolution comrade Batista in the main event.

Monday's post-pay-per-view RAW set in motion plans to have Daniel Bryan finally clash with long-term antagonist Triple H and the red-hot Bray Wyatt attempt to take down John Cena.

And, of course, the returning The Undertaker reignited an old flame with Brock Lesnar, and signed a contract to put his 21-0 undefeated streak on The Grandest Stage of Them All on the line.

But with the showcase in New Orleans, Louisiana four hours long and some of the above bouts poised to be short, big-spot filled slugfests, there is still room for another five or six matches on the card.

Below, Sports Mole projects who could face who at Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

WWE Tag Team Championship match: The New Age Outlaws (c) vs. The Usos

When The Outlaws beat Cody Rhodes and Goldust to begin their sixth title reign at the Royal Rumble, it was expected that they would merely act as transitional champions to benefit the Usos' push.

However, the former DX rebels appear poised to carry the gold to The Showcase of The Immortals.

If the WWE were looking to write them out of the title picture by April 6, then they could have had them drop the straps to the Samoan twins at the Elimination Chamber or on Monday's RAW.

The fact that Michael Cole on commentary was emphasising Billy Gunn's use of the tights to guarantee that he and Road Dogg escaped with the gold on Sunday suggested that this rivalry is unfinished.

Anticipate the Usos getting their title rematch at Mania and winning the belts for the first time.

United States Championship match: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns

The Shield's impending split has been given the slow burn by WWE and is likely to pick up pace in the buildup to WrestleMania, where their undoubtedly messy break-up will probably take solid form.

Tension between the trio was put to the back burner to allow them to put on a united front for their match with The Wyatt Family at the Elimination Chamber, which exceeded its high expectations, but it resurfaced on RAW, with Dean Ambrose's mysterious disappearance at the PPV questioned by his partners.

Roman Reigns has been billed as the leader of the faction, particularly since his record-breaking Royal Rumble performance, and he and Seth Rollins have been booked with face tendencies of late.

Having the two of them challenge the defector Ambrose for his US title would consolidate their turns, and no doubt be an intriguing watch for those who have followed The Shield's progress into big-time players.

These three are certainly on course to collide in New Orleans and, with a mid-card title below Reigns's current status within the company, Ambrose may be the one who comes out on top.

WWE Divas Championship match: AJ Lee (c) vs. Tamina Snuka

It seemed as if the WWE were pushing Naomi towards a title shot at the company's longest-reigning Divas champion in history, and by far the most fascinating woman to watch on the roster, AJ Lee.

However, the Funkadactyl's Aksana-inflcited eye injury has ruled her out of action for the foreseeable future, and her partner Cameron's mission to step into the breach will end in failure before WrestleMania.

Look no further than AJ's corner for a viable alternative. Tamina Snuka currently acts as Lee's muscle, but tension between the pair was teased when she nearly cost her boss the gold at the Elimination Chamber.

This would be an easy match to book and a better option than recycling old feuds with Natalya or a Bella sister, as Tamina's sheer size and strength means that she is a believable challenge for any woman.

This should be the Divas division's representation on the Mania card, and don't be surprised if Tamina's father, Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka, accompanies her to the ring to help get her over as a face.

Sheamus vs. Cesaro

Cesaro is beginning to be promoted towards the main event scene, and a WrestleMania match with a three-time world champion in the form of Sheamus will help him continue his rise up the card.

The Swiss athlete's phenomenal displays of strength have seen him become a popular figure with WWE crowds who are supposed to hate him due to his alignment with Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger.

The Real Americans are another pairing that seem poised to go their separate ways in the coming months, but their feud, which will result in Cesaro's transition into a face, will likely begin after Mania.

Cesaro is destined for bigger things than a match with Swagger at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and Sheamus is the biggest name in the company without a match set in stone for the April extravaganza.

We have seen snippets of these two physical brutes going at it and it would be great to be treated to a full 15 minutes of it in Louisiana, where the Celtic Warrior may just give the rising star the rub.

WWE Intercontinental Championship match: Big E (c) vs. Christian

There are a number of superstars that the WWE may consider for an Intercontinental Championship bout.

For Big E, a rematch with Swagger is a possibility, while Titus O'Neill is fresh off a heel turn and, given the season, that suggests that they may have plans for the former Prime Time Player.

Wade Barrett had the big stage on which to deliver some bad news on Sunday, appearing four times at the Target Center, and maybe his lack of in-ring action is in preparation for a second debut at Mania.

However, the favourite for a shot at Big E's gold would perhaps be Christian, who finds himself with little to do now that he has been firmly shelved from the WWE World Heavyweight title picture.

Creative will want to find him a spot on the card, and seeing as he is another who has recently become a heel, he is just the type of experienced conquest that could give Langston's reign more credibility.

Cody Rhodes vs. Goldust

This is the wildcard. Speculation that the Rhodes brothers could finally get the WrestleMania match that they have been plugging for has died down since the New Year, but never say never.

These two have been among the WWE's most consistently exiting in-ring performers since coming together in the summer of 2013 and there are few more deserving of a place on the card.

So, unless they are inserted into the Tag Team Championship picture, it leaves the company with little choice but to pit them against each other in a bout that a lot of fans are desperate to see.

Cody's popularity has benefitted from having his older brother alongside him, and the high-profile feuds that they have competed in have displayed Rhodes's future main-event credentials.

Now it is time for Goldust to help enhance Cody's reputation further by putting him over on The Grandest Stage of Them All, in what could be a show stealer if given the time. Vince, make it happen!
