Five touchdown passes from Drew Brees help keep the New Orleans Saints stay on course for a playoff place in their sixth win of the season.

Drew Brees threw five touchdown passes as the New Orleans Saints continued their playoff charge with a 35-17 victory at home to the Buffalo Bills.

Brees passed the ball for 332 yards in the win, which moves New Orleans to 6-1 for the season to remain top of the NFC South.

After hitting Lance Moore with a 15-yard attempt in the first quarter, the Bills hit back with Stevie Johnson levelling things up off of a 13-yard Thad Lewis pass.

Dan Carpenter handed Buffalo the lead via a field goal, before Brees turned on the style as half-time approached.

First he found Kenny Stills, who converted a 69-yard touchdown pass, before hitting tight end Jimmy Graham with 30 seconds of the half remaining on the clock.

The third quarter continued in much the same vein, with Graham - who was an injury doubt for the match - scoring his second touchdown of the game with 3:25 remaining.

A one-yard score from Bills running back Fred Jackson gave the visitors hope with five minutes to play in the final quarter, before Brees completed his five star performance with another big play to Stills, this time for 42 yards.
