It was also the MVP's 20th 40-point game of the season.

James Harden scored at least 30 points for a 27th straight game as the Houston Rockets beat the Phoenix Suns 118-110.

The shooting guard finished with 44 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the third-longest 30-point streak in NBA history and recorded his 20th 40-point game of the season.

Chris Paul added 18 points while Kenneth Faried had 17 points and 14 rebounds for his fifth double-double in six games.

Josh Jackson top-scored with 25 points for the Suns, who have now lost 11 games in a row.

In Brooklyn, the Nets were handed a 113-94 home defeat by the Milwaukee Bucks.

Giannis Antetokounmpo fell just shy of a triple-double with scored 30 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists as the Bucks earned their fourth straight win.

It was a poor night for the Nets, who missed 19 of their initial 20 three-pointer attempts and dropped to their third defeat in a row.

Andre Drummond, meanwhile, reached a season-high 27 points as the Detroit Pistons ended the Denver Nuggets' six-game winning run with a 129-103 victory.

Drummond scored 14 of his total points in the third quarter and was backed up by Blake Griffin who finished with 17 points and Reggie Jackson with 14.

Marvin Bagley III recorded his third double-double in a row with a career-high 24 points and 12 rebounds as the Sacramento Kings downed the San Antonio Spurs 127-122.

The victory saw Sacramento extend their home winning run to seven games, their longest since 2005-06.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks saw off the Washington Wizard 137-129 and Darren Collison helped lift the Indiana Pacers to a 109-107 success over the New Orleans Pelicans thanks to a three-pointer with just under two minutes on the clock.
