Bangladesh heading to heavy Pakistan defeat

Bangladesh remain 416 runs short of Pakistan in the second Test at Bangla National Stadium, having been restricted to 134-5 prior to lunch on day four of the second Test.

Pakistan are closing in on an impressive victory against Bangladesh, having seen their opponents slump to 134-5 at lunch on day four of the second Test in Dhaka.

The hosts lost Imrul Kayes for 16 runs before the close of play on day three, leaving them 487 runs adrift of Pakistan on 63-1. Matters little improved when fellow opener Tamim Iqbal (42) joined him after being sent packing by Sarfraz Ahmed.

Mahmudullah (2) and Shakib Al Hasan (13) really needed to pile on the runs at this stage if the Tigers were to salvage anything, but they managed just 15 runs between them to take Bangladesh to 121-4 in their flat second innings.

Last to fall before lunch was Mushfiqur Rahim, who was dismissed by Yasir Shah for a duck, while Mominul Haque (59*) did try his best to keep his side in it following a strong spell at the crease, with Soumya Sarkar (1*) also yet to be dismissed.

Bangladesh require 416 runs to claim an unlikely victory, with five wickets remaining.
