Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brentford

:Headline: Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brentford:
Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Brentford.
Sports Mole

Arsenal return to action for the first time in 10 days when they make the journey to face Brentford in Sunday's Premier League London derby.

The Gunners have not taken to the field since overcoming FC Zurich 2-1 in the Europa League on September 8, during which news broke of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Mikel Arteta's side could drop to third by Sunday if Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur both win on Saturday, but victory at Brentford will see them end the weekend at the top of the table again.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with the Bees, who currently occupy eighth spot in the rankings.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: October 1 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

The Ukrainian FA have announced that Oleksandr Zinchenko will miss the upcoming international period after picking up a muscular issue in training, and the left-back is now expected to spend two weeks recovering.

Reiss Nelson

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: October 1 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Attacker Reiss Nelson sustained a serious thigh injury in pre-season and is yet to make a competitive appearance this term, but Arteta will hope to have him available for the North London derby with Tottenham following the international break.

Thomas Partey

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: September 18 (vs. Brentford)

Thomas Partey has missed Arsenal's last four matches in all competitions with a thigh injury, but the midfielder is understood to have returned to training this week and could therefore make himself available for Sunday's game.

Mohamed Elneny

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

In contrast to Partey, Mohamed Elneny's hamstring problem will keep him sidelined for months, and Arsenal fans are unlikely to see him back in action before the New Year.

Emile Smith Rowe

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: September 18 (vs. Brentford)

Emile Smith Rowe was pictured leaving the field injured in the warm-down following Arsenal's 3-1 loss to Manchester United; Arteta has since revealed that the Englishman is dealing with a recurrence of a groin problem, and he is a major doubt for this match.

Cedric Soares

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: September 18 (vs. Brentford)

Cedric Soares was also absent from the squad to face Zurich last week after sustaining a knock, but the right-back will hope to recover in time to be available for Sunday's game.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no players suspended for this match.
