Mikel Arteta remains tight-lipped over rumours of a new contract at Arsenal, with his current deal set to expire in under 18 months' time.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has remained tight-lipped over reports of an imminent new contract at the Emirates Stadium.

The Spaniard has already added an FA Cup and Community Shield crown to his CV after two years in the job, and his deal in North London is due to expire in 2023.

Reports earlier this week claimed that Arsenal are planning to extend Arteta's stay at the Emirates, with the 39-year-old steering the Gunners back into Champions League contention this season.

However, when asked by reporters if the club had said anything to him regarding a new deal, Arteta responded: "Nothing. I am really happy here and my aim is to build with the club a winning team.

"Things will happen naturally as they have over the last few months, our focus has to be on delivering what we want to deliver."

Arteta also confirmed that the Gunners have no injury concerns for Thursday's Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers, where Gabriel Martinelli will return from suspension. body check tags ::
