Keith Millen: 'Crystal Palace didn't capitalise after red card'

Crystal Palace caretaker manager Keith Millen believes that the team did not capitalise after Arsenal were reduced to 10 men.

Keith Millen has said that Crystal Palace did not capitalise after Arsenal were reduced to 10 men in their match at Selhurst Park this lunchtime, which ended in a 2-0 win for the visitors.

Mikel Arteta, who had given the Gunners the lead from the penalty spot at the start of the second half, was dismissed for a tackle on Marouane Chamakh with just under 30 minutes to play.

"I thought our organisation was terrific in the first half. We grew into the game and had a couple of half chances," BBC Sport quotes the caretaker manager as saying.

"At half time we told the lads to make sure we start sharply after the break. Unfortunately, we gave away a soft penalty. All our hard work was undone within two minutes of the restart but the response from the players was the most pleasing factor for me.

"I think it was a red card because we had two players who were going to be through on goal. Unfortunately, we didn't capitalise."

Palace, who parted company with Ian Holloway earlier this week, have now lost their last six matches in the Premier League.
