Kieran Gibbs was the hero at the Emirates as the Arsenal left-back came off the bench to deny Tottenham Hotspur a North London derby-day win following a 1-1 draw tonight.

Harry Kane put a quiet first half hour to one side by capitalising on a Laurent Koscielny error to slot past Petr Cech on 32 minutes.

Despite dominating, Spurs were pegged back with 13 minutes to play when Gibbs bundled home an exquisite Mesut Ozil cross at the near post.

Petr Cech: Endured one hairy moment in the second period, but atoned with a fantastic point-blank save to keep out Alderweireld. (6/10)

Defence

Mathieu Debuchy: Deputised for Hector Bellerin and did little wrong truth be told, but he was never going to be as influential as the Spaniard in an attacking sense. (4/10)

Per Mertesacker: Never looked certain of himself in a game in which he looked like the Gunners' weak link at times. (4/10)

Laurent Koscielny: At fault for Kane's opener after trying to play the Spurs hitman offside in a decision which proved fatal. (4/10)

Nacho Monreal: Far and away Arsenal's best defender on the day as the Spaniard read the game beautifully throughout, though he added little to their attack. (6/10)

Midfield

Joel Campbell: Regularly on the ball but the Costa Rican had little idea what to do with it in both halves. He was never going to be Arsenal's hero today. (4/10)

Francis Coquelin: Found himself overrun in midfield during the first half, but improved when Flamini joined him. (5/10)

Santi Cazorla: The diminutive midfielder was rather anonymous in the first half before being subbed for Flamini. (4/10)

Mesut Ozil: Found himself stalked by the relentless Dembele in a tactical battle which heavily negated the German's creative talents, though his delivery from set pieces was outstanding and he assisted Gibbs's goal. (6/10)

Alexis Sanchez: Some good moments, but Spurs' no-nonsense approach to the Chilean appeared to work wonders, with Walker particularly impressive against him. (5/10)

Attack

Olivier Giroud: Was arguably Spurs' best defensive midfielder by virtue of the amount of Arsenal attacks which he broke up in the first period. After the break, then missed a glut of chances. (3/10)

Substitutes

Mathieu Flamini: Added some much-needed steel to Arsenal's midfield. (5/10)

Kieran Gibbs: Grabbed the much-needed equaliser and was overall a much better outlet on the left than Sanchez had been. (7/10)

Goal

Hugo Lloris: Virtually nothing to do in a very quiet first half but pulled off some fine stops after the break. Beaten at the near post for the equaliser, though he did his all to keep it out. (6/10)

Defence

Kyle Walker: Gave a masterclass in how to deal with the explosive Sanchez as he kept the Chilean on a short leash, but lost Gibbs for the goal. (6/10)

Toby Alderweireld: Lost the run of Giroud for a number of set pieces which, fortunately for Spurs, the Frenchman missed. (5/10)

Jan Vertonghen: Expertly dealt with Giroud, successfully getting under the Frenchman's skin in both halves. (6/10)

Danny Rose: Got himself into some excellent positions in the first half, but did not get attack as much in the second period. Coped well with Campbell. (6/10)

Midfield

Erik Lamela: Energetic as always but his decision-making occasionally let him down. (5/10)

Eric Dier: Stifled Arsenal's creative sparks brilliantly, but should have scored when his first-half header went begging at the back post. (6/10)

Moussa Dembele: Superb showing from the big Belgian, who was brilliant on and off the ball all afternoon. He resembled something of a Terminator. (8/10)

Dele Alli: Fashioned some excellent counter-attacks for the visitors, but his final ball occasionally let him down. Superb off-the-ball showing, though. (7/10)

Christian Eriksen: Never really got involved on Spurs' left-hand side, though he was always a threat from set pieces even if his delivery was less effective than usual. (5/10)

Attack

Harry Kane: Virtually anonymous before his first-half opener, and spurned one or two good chances after the break. Not his worst game, but not his best either. (6/10)
